Studio 65 designed it in 1971, taking the columns of the Erechtheion on the Athenian Acropolis as the model. What looks like carved marble is soft enough to sink into.\u003c\/p\u003e\u003cp\u003eGufram shapes the seat from soft polyurethane and finishes it by hand in Guflac® Ultra, in a white that recalls the Parthenon and with a surface that imitates worked stone. The coating makes Capitello suitable for indoor and outdoor use. It is produced as a limited edition of 500 pieces, and as every piece is finished by hand, slight differences are normal.\u003c\/p\u003e\u003cp\u003eCapitello was shown in Pop Art Design at the Barbican Centre in London in 2013 and in Design Radical at the Metropolitan Museum of Art in New York in 2017.
