La Pittura is a ceramic tableware collection by HAY in collaboration with the American artist Emma Kohlmann. Each piece is made from durable stoneware and hand-painted with Kohlmann's motifs: faces, vines, flowers and abstract forms in a rich, vivid palette. The Italian name means "the painting" and sums up the idea of bringing art into daily rituals.
The series includes plates in two sizes, bowls, cups, a large jug, vases and trivets, each with its own motif, such as Moon Face Vine, Deep Blue Flower or La Faccia. The pieces are dishwasher-safe, microwave-safe and food-safe, so they are meant to be used every day, and they work just as well hung on a wall or placed on a shelf as standalone artworks.
