Summertime Bench

Summertime, painted in shades of aquamarine like sea water in the midday sun, brings the bench from Valerio Berruti's paintings into the room as a three-seat sofa. Berruti, an Italian artist known for quiet scenes of everyday life, based the shape on the benches that lined Italian seafronts after the war. The name refers to Gershwin's song Summertime and its easy living.

The sofa is soft polyurethane, finished and decorated by hand with Guflac® Plus in Berruti's painterly style, so it carries the brushwork of a canvas. It was designed for interiors but can also stand outside, on a terrace or in a garden among trees.

Summertime is limited to 250 pieces. It is 170 cm wide, 86 cm deep and 76 cm high. Each sofa is painted by hand, which makes every one slightly different. Its counterpart in warm honey tones is Autumntime.
