Brazil is a table designed by Peter Shire in 1981, the year of the first Memphis collection. It is a long, relatively slim piece of 205 cm in length, 80 cm in depth and 72 cm in height. Memphis lists it as an occasional table.
The table is made of lacquered wood, and its effect rests on colour and proportion. The lacquer is applied by hand in Italy, and small differences in colour and surface from piece to piece are part of the process that Memphis describes as artisanal production.
In its 2025 catalogue, Back to New, Memphis Milano returns to the collections of 1981 to 1986 and presents their pieces afresh.
