Murmansk is a fruit bowl designed by Ettore Sottsass in 1982. A wide, shallow dish with a flat rim is raised on a column of zigzag-shaped elements that stands on a round base. The form is built like a small piece of architecture, and the polished surface reflects the room around it.
The bowl is made of silver-plated brass, 37 cm across and 29.5 cm high. Memphis describes its metal, ceramic, glass and wood pieces alike as the result of long handwork, in which every surface is handled many times. Small differences in surface and finish between bowls are part of this.
