Nilo is a vase designed by Ettore Sottsass in 1983. The name is Italian for the Nile, which places it with Euphrates and Tigris among the river-named porcelain vases. A pink sphere sits on a white cylinder and carries a ribbed white neck. The vase is 31 cm high.
It is made of white porcelain, hand painted. Because the colouring is done by hand, tone and surface vary slightly from piece to piece, which Memphis counts as part of its artisanal production.
