Castilian is a bookcase designed by Aldo Cibic in 1984. Cibic was one of the young designers who met around Ettore Sottsass in Milan in 1980, and he took part in Memphis as it developed its collections through the early 1980s.
The body is wood covered with decorative laminate, the surface Memphis used to bring colour and pattern into furniture. The bookcase is 157 cm wide, 45 cm deep and 181 cm high. Finishing is done by Italian craftsmen, so small differences in colour and surface between pieces are to be expected and belong to the process.
