Flamingo is a tall, narrow side table designed by Michele De Lucchi in 1984. It stands 90 cm high on a footprint of only 35 × 50 cm, closer in proportion to a small column than to a conventional table.
The body is lacquered wood covered with decorative laminate. Memphis used this combination to give furniture a surface of colour and pattern. Because lacquer and laminate are finished by hand in Italy, small differences in colour and surface from piece to piece are part of the process.
The founding group itself lasted only a short time, but its pieces remain part of the Memphis Milano catalogue today.
