Potato is a tray designed by George J. Sowden in 1985, one of the Memphis ceramics from that year named after vegetables. The round, light green tray is 31 cm across and has red knobs from which thin zigzag metal handles rise.
The tray is made of hand turned ceramic with metal handles. Because the shaping is done by hand, form and glaze vary slightly from piece to piece. Memphis counts such differences as part of its artisanal production, along with colour shading and small irregularities.
