Riviera Rug

Riviera is a rug designed by Nathalie Du Pasquier in 1983. The pattern sits on a turquoise field with scattered organic shapes in red, yellow and white, a band of black and white diagonal stripes across the middle and dotted quarter circles in the corners, all inside a red border. It shares its name with a Memphis chair by Michele De Lucchi from 1981.

The rug is hand-knotted in 100% Tibetan wool on a traditional loom and measures 175 by 250 cm. As it is knotted by hand, small differences in colour and surface between pieces are part of its character, which Memphis counts as part of its artisanal production.
