La Pagnotta is an armchair by Gaetano Pesce for Meritalia, named after the Italian word for a loaf of bread. Meritalia compares it to baking: mixing, waiting for the dough to rise, shaping and baking turn plain ingredients into something simple like bread. The structure has fourteen flexible legs that give the armchair its shape, and carbon-fibre rods that carry a thin seat and two cushions layered against the backrest.
The frame stays visible, and the manufacturer describes the chair as a radical throne for anyone who wants to style their seat. It measures 78 × 62 × 96 cm. Two versions are offered: a cover in Adele, a cotton fabric from category A, shown here in silver and slate, and a version called Viso.
