Palma Sofa

Palma is a seating system by Francesco Meda for Meritalia. It began as a challenge from the company: a sofa with a faintly bourgeois, elegant air that keeps Meritalia's avant-garde spirit, and is functional rather than too eccentric. Meda answered with an almost archetypal sofa, developed on ergonomic criteria and on a human scale. The sofa comes in two sizes, 292 cm for three seats and 202 cm for two, both 111 cm deep and 90 cm high.

The shell is leather (Altea) and the loose cushions of seat and back are chenille (Fabiola, category B), with a thin contrasting stitch drawing the edges. The cushions can be placed freely, which loosens the firm look of a parlour sofa. Each version combines three choices: the colour of the fabric, of the leather and of the stitching.
