Meritalia was founded in Italy in 1987 and makes upholstered furniture that breaks with the order of the traditional living room: sofas, armchairs, poufs and tables that can be rearranged, used in different ways and looked at as objects. Over the years architects and designers such as Mario Bellini, Achille and Piergiacomo Castiglioni, Alessandro Mendini, Carlo Contin and Gaetano Pesce have worked with the company.
Gaetano Pesce shaped the collection more than anyone: the modular La Michetta sofa, named after the Milanese bread roll, the Nubola sofa with its cloud-shaped back, the Senzafine seats made of tangles of extruded polyurethane and the printed Gli Amici pieces. Newer designs come from Cristián Mohaded, Faye Toogood, Francesco Meda and Philippe Malouin. Every piece is made in Italy, much of it by hand. Meritalia belongs to Italian Radical Design, together with Gufram and Memphis Milano.
More from Meritalia than you see here: as an authorised retailer we can also source other pieces and finishes from the brand's range. Send a request
